Maintenance and Cleaning

  • Remove the battery before cleaning or performing maintenance on the dust extractor, making tool adjustments, changing accessories or placing the dust extractor in storage. This safety measure prevents the dust extractor from being started accidentally.
  • To ensure safe and efficient operation, always keep the dust extractor and the ventilation slots clean.
  • Clean the housing of the vacuum cleaner occasionally with a damp cloth.
  • Clean dirty charging pins using a dry cloth.

Cleaning the dust container (see figures B1B3)

Clean the dust container (8) after each use in order to ensure that the vacuum cleaner continues to perform optimally.

  • Hold the vacuum cleaner down slightly so that dust cannot fall out of the dust container when the vacuum cleaner is opened.
  • Press the release button (1) and remove the dust container (8) from the motor housing (7).
  • Reach into the recess (11) on the motor housing (7) and pull the filter unit (13) off the motor housing by the filter seal (12).
  • Shake out the dust container (8) over a suitable waste bin.
  • If necessary, clean the dust container with a damp cloth.
Clean the filter unit if required.
  • Insert the filter unit (13) with the filter seal (12) back into the motor housing (7).
  • Then, mount the dust container at the bottom of the motor housing and apply light pressure to the dust container until it audibly clicks into place.

Cleaning the filter unit (see figure C)

The filter unit (13) must not be wet cleaned.

Faults

If the suction power is insufficient, check:

  • Is the dust container (8) full?
    ▷ Empty the dust container.
  • Is the pleated filter clogged with dust?
▷ Clean the filter unit (13).
  • Is the capacity of the rechargeable battery (5) insufficient?
    ▷ Charge the rechargeable battery.

Regularly emptying the dust container (8) and cleaning the filter unit (13) will ensure optimum suction power.

If sufficient suction power is not achieved after following these steps, please contact a Bosch customer service agent.
