Starting Operation
To remove the protective cap (12), pull on the locking mechanism (11) of the protective cap and pull it away from the finger guard (10).
If possible, allow the soldering iron to cool down before placing the protective cap (12) on it for transport or storage.
To attach it, hook the protective cap (12) into the bottom of the finger guard (10) and snap it back into place at the top of the finger guard.
To switch on the soldering iron, press the on/off switch (6) and slide it forward depending on the required temperature:
- Temperature level 1: Soldering temperature 350 °C
- Temperature level 2: Soldering temperature 420 °C
The worklight (4) is automatically switched on with the soldering iron and improves visibility in the immediate work area.
- Do not look directly into the worklight; it can blind you.
To switch off the soldering iron, slide the on/off switch (6) to switch position 0.
Place the soldering iron on the storage surface (9) and allow it to cool down.
The 3 LEDs on the status indicator (5) indicate the state of charge of the battery within 5 seconds of switching on the soldering iron.
The middle LED on the status indicator (5) then indicates the temperature of the soldering tip:
middle LED | Meaning |
|---|---|
flashes green | The soldering tip is heated/cooled until the set temperature level is reached. |
lights up green | The set temperature level has been reached. |
flashes red | The soldering tip cools down after switching off. |
Only transport or store the soldering iron once the soldering tip has cooled sufficiently and the status indicator (5) has gone out.
Note: If the battery is removed immediately after switching off, the status indicator (5) goes out and no longer warns of the hot soldering tip. Take special care to allow the soldering iron to cool down before transporting or storing it.
